Thanks. Interesting news ...beautyisasleepingcat -

Thanks. Interesting news about a German translation; I'd be very curious (and not a little appalled) to know if they change any author references just to suit the translation. In any case, Pourquoi Lire? is far less "French-centric" than some of Dantzig's other books - not that being French-centric should be an impediment to anyone's reading of one of his books.seraillonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17654593356535433945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2609668304633418767.post-58882884216357315712011-09-15T23:17:33.107-07:002011-09-15T23:17:33.107-07:00Thanks for this great review. I love the different angles.
To compare a book to a Sleeping Beauty does of course alos appeal to someone with my blog name.
I just saw the book has been translated into German and will be published in November. There still might be an English translation after all. I'm a native French/German speaker so it does not matter for me.
It could be that they changed a few authors for the German book. They occasionally do that when the references are too French.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2609668304633418767.post-90407880136989985642011-07-03T14:13:52.468-07:002011-07-03T14:13:52.468-07:00Dear Richard,
Many thanks for your kind comments....Dear Richard,

Many thanks for your kind comments. I also very much liked the Dantzig equation. I hope someone will get around to translating him, as he's a quite singular figure in contemporary French literature, and certainly deserves readership beyond the francophone world. And yes, by all means, please keep stopping by! All best, Scottseraillonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17654593356535433945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2609668304633418767.post-2455558557598152272011-07-02T20:03:05.913-07:002011-07-02T20:03:05.913-07:00Seraillon, I got a kick out of Dantzig's reade...Seraillon, I got a kick out of Dantzig's reader as Prince Charming equation--perhaps because I'm not so charming myself. More importantly, I'm glad to formally make the acquaintance of your blog, which I learned about through Rise's Bolaño challenge. Looks like we have more than a few authors/interests in common, so I'll try and stop by from time to time to see what you're up to reading-wise. Until then, nice blog!Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01746599416342846897noreply@blogger.com
